The Dunk is easily one of the most successful lifestyle silhouettes of recent times, so much so that it’s sometimes easy to forget its heritage as a basketball sneaker. However, this newest iteration sees the Dunk go back to it’s roots, paying homage to the first woman to dunk in a WNBA game and Basketball Hall of Fame star: Lisa Leslie. The Nike Dunk Low “Lisa Leslie” commemorates the legendary event by arriving in Los Angeles Sparks colours, with a couple of extra details adding a personal touch to the pair, too. Channeling the iconic player, the “Lisa Leslie” Dunk Low starts off with a gold base that gives way to rich purple overlays. A bright teal Nike Swoosh sweeps across the pair’s sidewalls, and Leslie’s number 9 has been embroidered onto the lateral heels. The sneakers are set to drop later on in July, as the 20th anniversary of the event takes place on July 30th.
