Kobe’s Nike Kobe 11 features Nike Flyknit technology that includes thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) yarn for superior strength, the brand’s first shoe to feature this new iteration of Flyknit. Similar to architects using metal rebar to reinforce structures, Nike Flyknit engineers reinforce zones of the upper using this high-strength material, micro-engineering areas of strength and stretch precisely where needed while reducing waste in the manufacturing process.
The Nike Kobe 11 Achilles Heel is the first variation from the series for the New Year. This all new line from the brand is mainly an update of the Nike Kobe 10 series and from the first look, they look awesome.
This first variation of the Kobe 11 is dressed in a mix of university red, bright crimson and metallic gold colourway. The shoes are a tribute to the mythical legend of Achilles, as well as Kobe’s season-ending surgery back in 2013. The main difference between this all new series and the Kobe 10, is that this pair includes the all new pearlescent TPU threads on their upper, which makes it more stronger and flexible. It also includes Lunarlon foam and Zoom unit in the heel. A black translucent outsole completes the overall look.
The Nike Kobe 11 Achilles Heel is scheduled to release on 9th December via the following retailers.
