If you’re still kicking yourself for missing the first Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse x Air Jordan 1 collaboration from 2018, then fear not, as another one is just around the corner. The “Origin Story” edition saw great success thanks to a teenage Miles Morales rocking them throughout the entirety of the first movie. Now fans are gearing up for the upcoming Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse movie, Jordan Brand is cooking up another tasty AJ1 to go alongside its release. It won’t be long till your friendly neighbourhood sneakerhead is swinging about your local town in these, so make sure you don’t sleep on this upcoming AJ1 High OG “Next Chapter”.Just like before, the classic “Chicago” colourway has been used as the blueprint, although this time splicing in a heavy patchwork element around the classic AJ1 panelling. On the heel and collar is a large circular print pattern that represents the 3D elements of the movie, a detail also reflected by the Wings Insignia. The other half of the support ankle strap is covered in smaller red dots, resembling the textured print found on Miles Morales’ Spiderman costume. The cut-and-sew element is a nod to the film’s different animation styles and how it separates the two characters within the same screen. This Air Jordan 1 High OG “Next Chapter” forgoes the clean colour blocking found on the previous release, focusing on storytelling to mirror the complex world of The Spider-Verse.
